We have developed a new Prompt Builder tool to enhance your prompt creation experience, enabling you to efficiently create, edit, and refine prompts. Whether you’re starting from scratch, improving an existing prompt, or looking for suggestions to optimize one, the Prompt Builder will guide you every step of the way.
How to Use the Prompt Builder
Option 1: Edit and Improve an Existing Prompt
If you have a prompt you'd like to improve, follow these steps:
1. Access the Prompt: Go to Settings > Prompt Templates, select the prompt you want to improve, and click Edit to open it.
2. Provide Feedback for Improvement: Scroll to the bottom of the prompt editor and look for the section labeled "Something missing..."
This section allows you to give feedback on how the prompt can be improved. Here are some examples of helpful feedback:
- "Make it more concise."
- "Add a consent section with yes/no options."
- "Increase detail in the history of presenting condition."
- "Remove the example in the exercise section."
The builder will analyze the prompt and suggest improvements, such as refining the language, enhancing phrasing, or adding relevant sections to increase clarity.
-
Review Suggested Edits: Review the builder’s suggestions and select the ones that best align with your needs. You can choose to accept or decline specific changes.
-
Refine Your Prompt: Continue refining the prompt until it meets your standards. Feel free to re-engage with the builder multiple times to make further improvements as needed.
Option 2: Create a New Prompt from Scratch
If you’re creating a new prompt, follow this process:
-
Start a New Template: Go to Settings > Prompt Templates and select Import to create a new template.
-
Choose Your Starting Point:
- Paste an Existing Template: If you have a template from another system, copy it and paste it into the builder.
- Use a Sample Note: If you have an example of the clinical note style you prefer, paste it as a sample for reference.
- Create from Scratch: You can also prompt the builder to create a new template by typing something like: “Create a clinical note for [insert assessment type, e.g., musculoskeletal assessment].” You can add specific instructions to ensure it includes the tests, assessments, or details you need.
This input will allow the builder to generate a first draft template based on your requirements.
-
Review the Draft: The builder will create a draft from your input. This serves as a starting point, mirroring your preferences or matching your description.
-
Refine and Customize: Review and refine the draft to suit your documentation style. The builder will also suggest enhancements such as improving language, adjusting structure, or adding sections to enrich the template.
Tip: The more details you provide upfront, the closer the first draft will be to your final vision.
Please feel free to watch the explainer video on how this can be used to tailor, create, and optimise your existing prompts.
